Like I said you dont HAVE to get most to their 3rd tier except maybe the core team and a few of your favs. Gunners shouldn't be too bad, my Avan got the upgrade almost instantly and I'm pretty sure Erik isn't far behind on it, but even as a regular Gunner they hold camps pretty well most of the time. On the plus side the missions after July give you multiple of those most of the time, it's just getting the right drops that's annoying. Third is a bit of a hassle because it requires multiple, different things. ![]() Second stage is easy to reach then, it's just one or two things and a certificate. I didn't count the initial classes as a stage because they are a given. I was refering to the third one when I said second one though. That said you dont have get everyone to their advanced class but I need those Gunner Elites dammit. And wait until you have to try and get their 3rd class. On that note the overworld for 2 looks pretty cool, shame that the camp in 3 isn't a big 3d thing too, then again it might not lend itself to that as easily as a big complex like Lanseal. Wouldn't complain about the looks, the stylisation holds up nicely even if it is a lot less pretty than VC1. Getting people to the second level of their roles is a bit of a hassle though.īut I only just got to September so who knows if it gets worse or not. Also do the classmate missions and the ones you can buy. Not as grindy if you just complete all the missions every month, 2 is easy enough early on so you can probably A rank most of those and get a ton of money and XP for later. Its really too bad they both look like PSX games. VC2 changed some fundamentals about the gameplay and narrative. VC4 aka Valkyria Revolution received surprisingly low scores. The other option is to get the artbook and to read the story in there, since that was published in english as well. I'd give them a try if you liked the first one.Īlso like the other guy said, there is a translation patch for 3, which translates the whole game as far as I know. ![]() I was very skeptical of them, 2 especially for the setting and Avan, but it won me over. ![]() And, well, they don't look as pretty as 1 for obvious reasons.Ĭontrols on the PSP work pretty well, mostly because aiming is done in a separate mode like on PC, so movement and aim controls can be separated. The only real issue is that there's a much lower character limit. The multi area maps are worked quite well into the gameplay, so it doesn't feel like it's a downgrade from the large VC1 maps too much. Overall they're both great games in the series and on par with VC1, if not better for all the new mechanics and features. 3 fixes some issues 2 has, like the grind, but introduces a few new ones, inability to repeat most of the missions IIRC. 2 is loads of fun, if you can look past or get into the highschool tier setting. Not to say that these are PSP games, and they probably won't be as enjoyable on PC, as VC1. Originally posted by Carnage:I read some mixed things about VC2, and VC3 wasn't even translated officially.
